Small grants can change lives - big time

The human and social costs of HIV/AIDS are staggering.
In Tanzania alone 1.4 million people are living with HIV and AIDS, while more than 1.1 million children have lost one or both parents to the disease.
Mondo is contributing by focusing on strengthening the coping capacities of families and communities.
In the majority of HIV/AIDS cases the extended family will look after its relatives so long as resources allow. This has to be the best, first line 'safety net' - that is efficient, cost effective and sustainable.
Our micro – finance scheme aimed at HIV/Aids affected families focuses on woman enabling them to pursue income generating activities to support their families.
Whilst the loans are typically small and the start up businesses based around simple skills - they can provide that valuable life line and positive spiral of self sufficiency, nutrition, schooling, health and empowerment.
This is where you can help! We need Volunteers and Ambassadors to visit our HIV grants programme to provide support, encouragement and appropriate advice. If you have mentoring or commercial skills and would like to get involved please get in touch.
